About the Event

We celebrate the 9th Slow Food Mother Earth Day and Domestic Goods Week. As Yaveş Gari Bodrum Association, we invite you to the traditional hot soup distribution that we will hold on Friday, December 9th, at Çiftlik Village New Marketplace to be opened by Mr. Ahmet Aras.

The Slow Food movement, whose main goal is “good, clean and fair food”, is an international organization with its supporters in more than 160 countries and 1600 local groups such as the Yaveş Gari Bodrum Association.

Celebrated worldwide by Slow Food every year since 2009, Mother Earth (Terra Madre) day is celebrated to draw attention to the fertility of the soil, its blessings and the benefits of consuming local foods.

As Slow Food-Yaveş Gari Bodrum Association, we distribute hot Tarhana Soup and Bodrum Gemici Rusks at our Çiftlik Village New Marketplace event, where we meet with our farmers and Bodrum residents on Friday, December 9, between 10:00 - 11:30. In addition, our District Agriculture and Forestry Manager, Mr. Durmuş Çakır, will be with us with the “Local Nutrition or Fast Food” talk.

EAT, LEARN, ACT

While climate change threatens our future, we know that changing our diet, learning about sustainable food and taking action for better food systems are the most effective ways to create positive change for both the ecosystem and our own health. At this point, we invite everyone to take action on what we need to do to revitalize our world. .
